Colorful Salads With Home-made Dressings
There is nothing like colorful salads with home-made dressing to accompany a meal or become the main part of the meal. The best ones are made from fresh, local organic ingredients. In Canada this can be a challenge in the winter but thanks to some greenhouses, we can eat them most of the year. I have included many types; some using all raw ingredients, some with added protein and some with cooked vegetables, grains, nuts and legumes. I am a big fan of raw foods (egg yolks, dairy, fruits, fish and some meat and vegetables). There are some foods that should not be eaten raw (spinach, broccoli, cauliflower, grains, nuts, and legumes and some sprouts…). For more information on this check out Plants Bite Back. My recipes are based on this information. The biggest advice that I can give is to MAKE YOUR OWN DRESSING! Most store bought dressing is loaded with cheap oils, fake flavorings, unhealthy sweeteners and Excitotoxins.
